LUCIE TOBIN

We met in our first jobs, in the mid-90s, at a fly-by-night publishing house where no-one stayed longer than a few weeks. We soon bonded over discussions of good (and bad) design, copy and marketing – a conversation we have carried on ever since. We both went on to have the careers we'd dreamt of. Elsa worked as a Creative Director, her storytelling and brilliant eye surprising and delighting clients including B&Q, Tesco, Abel & Cole and the NHS. Lucie became an award-winning magazine editor and later worked creating content for clients including Boots, Tesco and Ikea.

In 2020 we teamed up to launch Birdy and bring that big brand knowledge and experience to smaller companies. We know we have what it takes to change companies into brands: Lucie understands what makes people tick and her journalist’s brain and editor’s love of detail means she creates brilliant copy and winning strategies. Elsa brings her extensive experience and brilliant conceptual eye to every job she does. She’s a design obsessive who is always ahead of the curve.
